KME Unveils 2010 Chassis Family at FDIC 2010

KME introduced a new custom chassis family at FDIC 2010. The 2010 Predator chassis family includes three versions: Panther (baseline chassis), Severe Service (fleet chassis), and Predator (full custom chassis).

In keeping with KME’s long tradition of sole source, truly custom apparatus, the cabs are available in over 400 different configurations and are available in 96” and 100” widths for all types of apparatus. KME also doesn’t limit its customers to one engine brand or emission solution, so engines are available up to 600hp in multiple brands with both Advanced EGR (non-urea) and SCR (urea) emission options. And the electrical systems can be either multiplexed or hard wired.
  • Best class door entry
  • Large capacity newly designed HVAC system
  • Newly designed interior package with wrap-around dash and automotive looks and features
  • Options for three different types of electrical systems

KME continues to provide the “safest” and “strongest” cab offering in the fire apparatus marketplace. In addition to meeting all NFPA requirements for cab structural integrity, additional roof load testing of over 110,000 lbs was performed and certified, and frontal impact testing at over twice two times the requirement was performed and certified as well. Not satisfied with providing the strongest cab in the fire apparatus industry, KME will continue to engineer new “safety” enhancements in our 2010 product, with a frontal impact safety system to be released later in 2010.
