KME unviels new Ridgerunner Interface at FDIC 2010

KME unveiled its new RidgeRunner pumper today at the FDIC 2010 show. The RidgeRunner is designed with the full capability of a Type 1 pumper (as listed in NFPA 1901) while still maintaining the performance of Type 3 wildland. Highlights of the KME RidgeRunner include:

  • Navistar 7400 4x4 crew cab with seating for 5.
  • New KME exclusive Hale interface pumping system which offers 1500gpm stationary pumping and 100gpm @ 150 psi.
  • pump-and-roll (at less than 2 mph).
  • Hale 2.1 Class A foam system.
  • Hale 2.1 Class A foam system.
  • Stainless Steel Plumbing.
  • Tank capacities of 800 gallons water and 20 gallons foam.
  • A full 200 cubic feet of enclosed compartmentation.
  • Full complement of NFPA ground ladders in rear.
  • Both bumper turret (remote controlled) and deck gun.
  • Easy access hose reel in rear compartment.
  • Enclosed pump panel at the driver’s side forward door.
  • Top access for pump maintenance and repair.
  • Safe, ground level preconnects.
  • Convenient access at rear of unit to ground ladders and suction hose.
  • Full angled folding access ladders at rear to access top equipment boxes.
  • Superior ground clearance as well as approach and departure angles.


Like all KME's, the apparatus can be further configured to meet individual customer requirements, including outing it on a custom cab for a tight, short wheelbase, all-purpose unit. A rear-mount version is also available.
